'Freedom' without 'responsibility' is as bad as no freedom at all. The incident has once more highloighted the rot in our society - where young people think they can do anything and nobody can question them asn they think they have the license or freedom to do anything they want. They should realise that there are some limits and cultural boundaries within which they need to act - we are not living in US or UK. Blind copy of western coulture has already ruined our social fabric and I think revellers have to mind the sentiments and values of the local people also.

hi brother i agree but the attackers who behaved with those girls, it really showed you any cultural Discipline of India.. we Indians always respect girls... kok if any one did wrong this is the way to treat them and there is a law to punish every one. why this HJV members always creat a Controversy, if they need publicity they can find other ways...... i dont think that HJV members would have been become great Indians by this ok... first of all they have to learn respect each and every Indian not only HIndus....

I am very Happy about this matter.I wish another 4-5 attack should take place in BANGALORE so that Girls have wearing small small clothes would not be wondering here and there(pubs,Bars.etc) with Boys .And who are protested against this,first Both we and police should have to beat them and their family vigorously...

The la affair home stay will have to be seen as an attack by the "mast maza madu maga" life culture on the traditional Indian socio-cultural philosophy of life. That is the way the majority of the people of Mangalore have reacted and the majority of people of Karnataka feel. this 'Mast Maza Madu Maga" culture is a carbon copy and imitation of decaying western culture. As usual the educated class has fallen for it and think it is all that they should do because it happens to be "phoren" and must be right. But they do not know that ultimately this will lead to an increase in the population of girls getting pregnant at 13-14 and getting ruined for life and boys ceasing to be boys. They would be neither boys nor grown up men but broken pieces. So, only those who want India to become a sick society should encourage this "mast maga culture." One should not forget these mast maga people are in a minority. it is time that the majority acts to stop the minority from ruining the happiness of the majority as well. Yes there should be intervention by the people but it should be peaceful and confined to forcing the authorities to take note of such thins and move against them as per law.

First of all lets be very clear on how define culture. Culture can never be dictated or designed by someone. It just belongs to the person as to how one wants to live his/her life. Ya, the older generation did not have much access to internet, media, money or drugs - BUT that is not the fault of the current generation. When there is restraint on dressing style and social gathering for the sake of so called "self dignity & social acceptance", how can u call it freedom?

I strongly feel its just their desperate frustration that these goons are venting out on the kids outside. These hooligans don't have an option to live and socialize the way the victims did. In addition, the "MORAL POLICE" team were drunk as they executed their social responsibility - HOW COOL IS THAT? and they justify the assault on girls which is nothing less than rape - on the name of morality and culture.

There is a change and in history, every change went smooth, but was oppressed and challenged. It's just the same. A few in the society cannot cop with these inevitable changes. However, regardless of whatever means they take to prevent this, its going to happen and no one can stop it. May be they should learn a bit of tolerance, learn the virtue of respect, and direct their attention to the struggles of the humanity - there are millions out there hungry, oppressed, and downtrodden - than raping girls for the way they dress.

Not the case what and who, the supreme law of the state shouldn't be violated. the un authorized people who are taking law on their hands should be cruelly punished. there is no use just have proud about our Indian constitution . state should be execute that. may be a dream , but in such cases have to take action on such people without the interference of 'Indian politics'.

Welcome to India a land which respects woman and protects a culture and tradition of thousands of years by molesting, assaulting woman in public. this is the situation in our country where a guy is not punished because he is involved in a rape incident instead a girl is blamed for wearing indecent apparel. animals don't wear clothes at all do we see them attacking every other animal NO if they mind their own business then Y cant the so called activists so it too.

This is definitely not a stray case as we hear increasing number of such incidents happening around us. Youngsters today have access to a lot of information on the net& media, have easy access to money, drugs etc and are way ahead of their older generation at their younger days. It is important that they have their freedom but not at the cost of self dignity, social acceptance. All learning begins at home, and parents should guide their children and be aware of the childrens wherabouts. Beating up is definitley not the way to go. The so called "moral policers" should refrain from physical abuse but instead create awareness among the youth. Media should definitely stop publishing have nude pictures and should take to positive reporting.
