Mahindra the automobile pioneer brought out the new year in style. As the company made its re-entry into the motorcycle production in the year 2013.

Mahindra launched two new 110cc bikes Pantero and Centuro on February 2013 annoucing its arrival at the economic segments of the motorcycles.

There is a lot riding on these bikes as the previous bikes released by the Mahindra have failed to set the business going.
This time around both the bikes have been designed in the R&D centre of Mahindra in Pune. The project was shown the green flag in July 2011 and it is commendable that Mahindra has built the bike in just 18-months.

The bikes are powered by designed and developed MCi-5 (Micro Chip Ignited 5-Curve) engine and will be manufactured at Pithampur near Indore.

Mahindra Pantero will hit the markets first

Among the two Mahindra Pantero will be the first to hit the market. The bike will be aimed at youth and will be priced at an economic price too.

The bike is powered by a 110cc MCi-5 (Micro Chip Ignited 5-Curve) engine capable of producing 8.6PS of power at 7,500rpm. Centuro will too have similar features and will be release much later as the company is aiming to maintain gap between the two new releases.

Both the bikes will have many first time features in bikes like LED pilot and tail lamps, fully digital instrument cluster with a digital tachometer and choke on the handle bar.

The digital instrument cluster features a speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and clock. The bike also has a high ground clearance of 165mm.

Adding to the features the bike will also have anti-theft tracking system and will also have an alarm including Led kit keys which sets of an alarm in the bike helping the owner to identify the bike in a crowded place. The makers have also claimed patent for it.
According to sources Pantero’s mileage will be 79.5kmpl as per the ARAI claims.

The bike will be launched in four variants: T-1 (Self Start/Cast Alloy Wheels/ Digital Console), T-2 (Self Start/ Cast Alloy Wheels/ Analog Console), T-3 (Kick Start/ Cast Alloy Wheels/ Analog Console) and T-4 (Kick Start/ Spoke/ Analog Console).

Mahindra is yet to announce the price and release of the new motorcycles.
