Ford Classic in Market with Impressive Mileage

Next

Ford Fiesta was one of the most successful mid-size sedans in the country, and Ford has decided to rebrand it as Ford Classic. As the advertisement of Maruti Suzuki rightly puts ‘in a country obsessed with mileage,’ Ford Classic’s diesel is offering 32 plus kilometres per litre mileage. Even the petrol variant comes with 21 plus kilometre per litre mileage promise. Let us take a look and find out what other than name has changed.
Externally there are certain changes but it has to be said that not many of these are special mention worthy and as a whole the car still looks a little still dated. The new crystal barrel headlamps and aggressively looking fog lamp are the most noticeable changes on the front end of the car. Ford has not changed the power terrain of the old Fiesta, and still uses the 1.6 litre, 4 cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine, and 1.4 litre, 4 Cylinder, 8-valve, SOHC diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers a maximum power of 101 PS at 6500 rpm, while the diesel variant churns out 68 PS at 4000 rpm. The power is transferred to the tires via a 5 speed transmission gear box. A total of 6 variants are available in the market now, this includes 3 petrol and 3 diesel variants. All these variants feature either one of these models and vary only in terms of other features and accessories.
Air-conditioning with electric re-circulation and heater are standard in all variants of the car. So does collapsible steering columns, central locking, and PATS (Passive Anti-Theft system). Front and rear power windows, electric boot release, door ajar indicator, and low fuel warning light, all add to the comfort and convenience departments of the car. Cup holders, two-litre bottle holder on the front door, cigarette lighter jacks, anti roll bars and the music system are few of the other standard features of the car. The cars come with 14 inch steel wheels and 175/65R14 tubeless tires. The trunk of the Classic series can hold up to 430 litres of luggage. The two tone colour co-ordinated interiors also have a central console with metallic finish. Like Fiesta, the Classic also comes with ventilated disk breaks in the front and self adjusting drums in the back. With maximum headroom of 940mm in the front, 925mm in the rear, maximum leg room of 1215mm in the front, 890mm in the rear, and shoulder room of 1330mm, the vehicle offer decent cabin space.
The high end Titanium variant of the car comes with ABS with EBD, driver and passenger airbags, stereo system with Bluetooth, programmable keyless entry with auto relock, speed sensing volume control, and drive away locks. They also have elegant looking 14 inch alloy wheels. The rear seats of the high end variants are 100 percent foldable, increasing the scope for luggage even further. Six different colour variants are available for the Classic range.
